I just got my seeds from *some gypsy* ( damn they got here fast!) and they are hopefully getting ready to pop in the next few days. Is it a slow veg plant? How long do they normally need to veg?
Does it like a heavier or lighter diet during specific phases of veg and flower?
These are indoors. CO2,Sealed room. In dirt.
In sunny California!
Thanks in advance for the help!

Like any other plant from seed, growth will be slow at first, then accelerate exponentially - more leaves = faster growth = more leaves, etc.
If intending to use these as mother plants, veg them for 6-8 weeks before taking 1-2 clones from each (and numbering plants/clones so it's clear where they came from). Flower these first clones to determine the sex of the plant they were cut from. Discard the males and allow the females to veg for another 3-6 weeks before taking the first sets of proper clones. If planning to flower plants from seed, grow them to about 50-60% of the height you want them to be at harvest time, then flower them. They'll gain the rest of the height as they bloom. If final plants need to be under about 2ft, this is much easier to achieve with clones than seed plants. Nutrient requirements are low in veg, medium in early flower and quite high (but never more than the manufacturer of the nutrient recommends) in the second half of flower. |

Thanks for the reply. Yes too all of that. I am germinating them all as we speak, 6 have popped so far. I will choose the mom I want accordingly.
I was speaking more as to the advertised flower time of 45 days. At what time from a cutting do you flower, or what is the desired finish height for maximum gain. It would seem this is a short plant given the short flower time and indica dominance.
Is two feet norm with hash plant? I have 10 foot ceilings so space constraints aren't an issue. Although I don't think this one will ever get close.
Thanks again for the response. Thats why I bought your seeds. Customer service means a lot.

No strain really has a set veg time, especially when growing from clone.
When flowering seed plants (particularly Indica-dom strains) it can be important to give them enough growing time (2-3 months) that they are approaching maturity when flowering is started. If this is not done, they may react strangely, gaining more height than expected. This is to do with normal outdoor photoperiods - an Indica seedling that is flowered after only a few weeks' veg may react as if it has germinated very late in the season and gain height very rapidly in order to get to a minimum size before it starts devoting energy to flowering. This is not the case with clones because, on a cellular level, they are the same age as the parent they were cut from. This means that they will not have the 'gain height or die' imperative that can affect seedlings. Growing time of any indoor strain depends on: 1) how big the grower wants plants to be by harvest time 2) how much height a given strain is likely to gain during flowering. In the case of Hash Plant clones, expect them to add 70-100% to their vegetated height during flowering. For final plants of 4ft/120cm, grow clones to about 2ft/60cm, then flower. It's best to judge this by the height that plants actually attain (or an average thereof) rather than the time plants have been in veg. You're right that HP is rather unlikely to reach 10ft, even if given a very long veg time. It's not impossible, but this plant will give its most efficient harvests at a final size of 2-4ft/60--120cm. A SOG setup with many 12-18in/30-45cm plants can also be a great yielder. A flowering time of 45 days is possible with HP, but from my experience, it's nearly always better to go a little longer. There should be plants that are full of bud and harvestable after 45 days of 12/12, but it's likely those buds will get better/bigger/stickier if given an extra week or so. The more potent and higher-yielding individuals of this strain usually prefer something like 55 days anyway. |
