Hi I made Hasjiesj last night with a 3 bag iceolator kit and used a lot of buds that were not grown 100%. They weren't flushed out well, they were not fertilized with the correct fertilizers, basically an overapplication of stuff that the plants didn't need.
I used what seemed to be a lot of bud approximately 4 liters worth of fluffy, compact nugs and it turned in to 1.5 grams on the first sieving.
Is this a reasonable yield? You couldn't really see crystal on the buds in the first place though they were kept in tact and you had the feeling that you saw crystal at the same time if that makes sense this contradictory statement.
Question 2. What do I do from here? Should I take it for a second sieving and than make it into a canna butter? Should I not bother with second sieving? Should I not bother with the canna butter.
The hasjiesj is amazing although it's small. Pretty sad to have got that with 3 months of time and 1200 watts of HPS power. :)

Doing a second wash will nearly always yield something. It should be good enough to smoke and it's generally worth the effort.
Whether a third or fourth wash is worth the time and effort depends on what the second wash yields. Not sure what 4lt of fluffy bud would weigh. The normal figure for water hash is 5-10% of dry weight returned as resin. Since the bud was immature and did not have a lot of visible resin, that figure could be reduced to 1-5% of dried weight. Still, it's usually worth a second go. Finally, if the leftover bud is dried quite quickly and carefully, it could still be used for cooking (while the hash is reserved for smoking). The trick is to do it fast enough that it doesn't start to rot, not so fast that the heat it destroys leftover cannabinoids. The sun on a hot day will probably be able to dry thinly spread piles of weed. When dry, the plant matter will still have small amounts of resin attached to it and there are also cannabinoids within the foliage itself. These can be extracted from the dried bud by making cannabutter. |
